Artist Statement

My work is shaped by years of experience as a business owner, along with degrees in business entrepreneurship and multiculturalism. I bring strong observational skills and attention to detail to every project. When designing, I carefully consider color psychology to create the right emotional impact. Inspiration comes to me from many sources—the colors of a sunset, the texture of bark, the brilliance of foliage, or details I discover through online research. I also enjoy capturing fleeting moments of beauty with my camera, preserving what might otherwise go unnoticed.

I have a deep love of travel and an eagerness to explore new places and cultures. Pursuing a career in UX/UI design allows me to build on my previous design experience while creating the freedom to work and travel. Along the way, I look forward to finding inspiration in the diversity of people, landscapes, and traditions across the world.

Biography

Derek Myers is a second-generation Oregonian, born in Eugene; raised in Bend. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Entrepreneurship from Lundquist College of Business / University of Oregon where he also minored in Native American Studies. He earned a Graphic Design certification from Central Oregon Community College and has recently finished another certificate for UX / UI design. He has successfully branded two of his own businesses, ran several ad campaigns, designed logos, banner layouts and business cards for these companies. He has aided in designs for local non-profits and branded a new venture WORLDWIDE GRAPHIC DESIGN. Derek is looking forward to following his true passion of traveling the world with his wife while designing remotely.
